Leading e-commerce platform Venda have been selected for the new Tesco transactional website. Venda has been the number one e-commerce software supplier for the last nine years and the recent selection from Tesco has shown why. After one year of rigorous testing from Tesco, they finally decided that Venda were the right option for them. Venda also plays host to a number of high profile websites including Luara Ashley and Heal.

Venda services are priced £6k per month plus 15p per transaction (which I believe includes card charges although I could be wrong). Venda states that their clients barely use upto 50% of their systems, and if there was a chance that a client were to push their system futher, they would buy additional machines to handle the load. This is a set fee for all clients which could seem a little pricey for smaller retailers, but Venda are looking at creating a small business pack at £50 per month. This would also include their new integration with Ebay and Paypal, which is an exciting propsect for small businesses as it opens up the potential of multiple sales channels.

Dan Wagner, founder and chairman of Venda discusses how his company has also acquired the fashion blogs from recently fallen Shiny Media; previously the largest blogging company in the UK, in order to help maximise opportunities and although not mentioned by Wagner, embrace the new world of social commerce.
